Well, the quarter ends, so God must think I need something to do because I just got a virus. Dropper.mimail....trojan horse of some sort.
I scanned with AVG and it healed what it could. Problem was, there were 2 files which were still infected in the windows folder. So, being an inexperienced idiot, I deleted them. Now, my computer is pretty much hosed. Windows will start, but nothing in the Windows folder will initialize. I have the desktop as normal, and I can browse the hard drive, but 50% of executables that i try to open give me the error "Windows cannot find

Don't need to reformat. Just do an "over the top" repair with the XP disk

What happens when Windows is done with the hour install and I have the same problems and the same virus after all? I'm sorry for being pessimistic but if there is less of a brute force way of removing this, I would really like to know.

if you did the virus scan and removed it there should be no problem, also the repaire only takes 30 min.
what do you have to loose by trying it |
