Popups

I've cleared my cookies folder, ran disk cleanup, ran spybot search & destroy, and ran ad-aware. After I did all this I still get popups while I'm doing something or just have my computer on. After I do each thing I listed, I do not open IE or any other programs. I usually just load the game Im getting ready to play.

I have the most up to date files for Ad Aware & SpyBot. I have no clue on what else to do to get rid of these popups. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Do you have the messenger service turned off? Or are you behind a router?

I did something to Windows Messenger but I forgot what I did. How do you turn it off?

Yes, I have a firewall.

Goto RUN and type "services.msc"

scroll down to messenger, right click to properties, and set to manual.

Mines on manual and I get no popups but it's not on Disable b/c it says NetStat will not work unless enabled, so I left it at Manual. Good Luck!

What type of pop ups are you dealing with? Are they windows notices or ads?

Sounds like maybe a trojan or virus. Is your AV up to date and have you run it? Might try a system scan at
