I may have one little problem, I have Photdex CompuPoc and ever since I installed the drive the CompuPic freezes up when I try to use it and I have to ctrl&alt%del to get rid of it.
Have you any idea what might be the problem?

you might try unstalling it and reinstall it

in re the CompuPic, I did try to reinstal,l nothing.Still working on it.
Here is a small question; every time I boot up or restart there is a rotten little window that tells me it can not find "data1.dat"
I had downloaded a program called Wupdate "?" some time ago and after I deleted it I was left with the sign. I can't get rid of it. Evidently I need to install a "data1.dat", how do I do it?

This is hard to explain. About the CompuPic pictures. I had the CompuPic group of pictures in one file and it was still in the old hard drive. A file of family pictures I had moved to the new hard drive and I found out that they don't work together.
I use the CompuPic to change formats and sizes of pictures, Etc., and being the files were not in the same hard drive I found out that was why it would freeze up. Interesting.
I love learning about the computer.
I guess I better tell you I am a little bit old.

Start/Run, type msconfig, startup tab and make sure Wupdate is not still in there trying to startup, if it is uncheck it and restart the computer and see if that takes care of "data1.dat".

Been there done that. Not in startup. I don't have msconfig on this computer.

I should have asked which operating system before I replied, since Win2000 doesn't have msconfig.
All programs don't put themselves in the Startup folder, you may want to try this registry edit to see if Wupdate is still trying to startup. Regedit

I deleted the file from Task Manager and got a bigger window. It seems the program is called Keenware and just uninstalling it does not get rid of all the files. The data1.dat file came from the program Keenware.
I guess the only way to get rid of it is to reinstall the hard drive and I am not doing that.
Just have to be more careful of what I download.
I seldom shut down my computer so I guess I can put up with one little old window error popping up now and then.
Thank y'all.

Keenware comes bundled with Wupdater, download Spybot S& D and it should get rid of it.

getting rid of unwanted error window

I am still getting error window that says" "data1.dat" cannot be found" every time I reboot or restart. I am sure I downloaded Wupdater and this is what came with it. I have deleted Wupdater and Keenware from the computer.
Do I need to put the "data1.dat" file back into the computer and if I do how do you do it? Other than restoring the whole thing. There has got to be a way to get rid of it.

Thank you

Download Startup control panel and it will let you do what msconfig will with the startup entries. There is something starting up looking for that file and you just need to stop it from starting...I think you will find an entry for Wupdater myself.
