Burning mp3 Cds using Nero 5

I am trying to burn mp3 cds using nero 5. The songs are ripped from a cds and already converted into mp3 format. The way i tried was making a data cd and then finalizing it so that it will play in cd players that support mp3, but that doesn't seem to work. I burned it at a low speed so i don't think that was the problem. I am running an XP pro machine for those who want to know that. Any help will be appreciated.

I would also like to add that i burned the cds as an ISO (or that is what nero said it was. I don't really have a clue). Is this the right format?

Ok. Well i burned it using the wizard and the songs i ripped from a cd using musicmatch didn't work, but other songs i had gotten from the internet did work, so is there something in the way i ripped the cds? I did a rip straight into mp3 format in digital quality/cd quality.

You need to select "Audio" as the type of cd being burned.

Just burn your MP3's as a data disc(CD-ROM (ISO)), with your playlists in the root of the disc, and your MP3's organised into folders the way you want them to be. Use the ISO-9660 character set, Mode I to compile your discs and burn them using "Disc at Once/96" or "Disc at Once" as the Write Method.
