I just got through reading an e-mail rant on Windows Office prices so I'm posting this link for abiword : http://www.abisource.com/
I have used this for the last 3 years ( various revisions in that time ) it's compatible with M$ word so that's no problem and it works as well with XP as it does with the 9X operating systems. If you don't need all of Open Office, and I don't, this is great software. As an aside, there are also seperate spread sheet programs and other stuff, so you need only install what you need.. Save alot of money/hdd space with this.

Thanks for the tip Pam, it's always nice to have alternatives...especially if it saves money. It looks like it will do everything a person needs.

I don't like the big icons in the windows screenshot. I'm sure that there must be a way to reduce their size. The yiddish screenshot, although not meant to be funny, is for some reason funny to me. Nice to know of other options just in case, but i'll be sticking with my Office2000; one reason being that I still have plenty of HD space.
