Programs using each other

Im having problems with WMP and have tried updating and all so now i want to try and delete it and redownload. When i try it says that another program is using it and i am not able to delete. What are my choices

What O/S are you running?

What version of WMP did you have before? What version did you download? Did you download it for the right O/S?

You can go into the control panel > add/remove programs to remove it.

You can try booting to safe mode and the first thing you do is goto control panel and remove it.

If WMP icon is in the tool bar it will be displayed as being used by another person.Exit the icon and try to delet again
