Games Crash/ Windows XP
Hello everyone!
I just bought a Dell Dimension 4600 with Windows XP Pro. The computer just arrived today and I hooked it up. The computer specs are: P4 2.66ghz ATI Radeon 9800 Pro Sound Blaster Live 5.1 1gb of PC2700 RAM 80gb hard drive I installed the great Battlefield 1942 and when i went to run the game, it crashed. The computer has been consistently restarting and the game has crashed about every 5 minutes that I run it. I also installed UT2003, and that game crashed as well. I was wondering if anyone knows if there are any known errors or conflicts between Windows XP and video games, and also if anyone knows how to fix this probelm. Thanks! |

Start with motherboard chipset drivers. Then look at updated video drivers. Shut off un-needed services. Update DirectX.

This may be a double post, but if the computer is new check with DELL since you just bought it. They could prolly help you out.
