Command Prompt
In the windows 2000 command prompt, how do i make it recognize a path with spaces in the title, e.g. c:\program files\microsoft office

Haven't seen ya in a while. Never ran 2K, but it may be like other versioin where you have to quotes 'round the path. Won't hurt to try ![]() TwoRails |

hey TwoRails,
Must be because my computer's been working so well. ![]() Anyway, i found out that there are two versions of the command prompt in 2k and xp. the first version, which you open up by going to start>programs>accessories>command prompt, simulates the old dos in that it can't have file names longer than 8 characters and so program files would look like PROGRA~1 the second version, which you open up by going to start>run and typing cmd.exe, allows longer file names with spaces. |
