Windows Xp (dial-up)

Hey guys,

I'm having a hard time with my new windows XP install. Everytime I log into windows my internet tries to connect (dial-up) and continues to try to connect. How do I make this stop?

If you are using Internet explorer go to tool>INTERNET options >connections tab > see if you have the box checked that says "dial whenever a network connection isn't present" change it to your preferred setting

I think that you want "Never Dial A Connection" checked, it is listed on the same tab. But if you did what james suggested and it works the way you want it, then just forget what I said .

And check for spyware too as it might be causing the dial-up to happen.
