Windows Update to CD

I tried searching through some of General Software and all of the Windows XP section but I couldnt find an article on this. How do I save the updates from Windows Update to CD? Is it the same way for XP and 98?

1. Go to the Windows Update page in the normal fashion (IE, Tools, Windows Upadate).

2. On the left side, click on Personalize Windows Update.

3. On the menu that opens on the right, tick the box that says, "Display the link to Windows Update Catalog under See Also."

4. Back on the left under the See Also heading, a link will appear called Windows Update Catalog. Click it.

5. On the menu that appears, click "Find updates for Windows Operating Systems." (You can also get driver updates, if you want them.)

6. This step is critical. Select the correct operating system.
Be careful--many of the OS's look similar. Downloading the wrong update can be a disaster, since there will be no prompts to warn you when you go to install it.

7. Click on the link, "Advance Search Options" and select the kind of updates you want.
I suggest starting with just the Critical ones.

8. Select the general type of patches you want and then click on Add for the individual ones.

9. Click on Go to Download Basket.

10. Click on Browse and select a place to download them.

11. Click Download Now.

12. Burn them to a CD.

13. Put the CD in your computer and double click on each update to install. Do only one at a time and reboot after each.
