Question Oem Or Retail???????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Hey guys,
Just got a quick question. When building a computer is it better to go oem on windows or buy it retail? What are the pro's what are the con's?

oem is cheaper but you dont get any free phone tec support from microsoft but with this web site you dont nead it. all so you are suposed to bye some hardware with oem software i normaly get a ide cable or somthing
retail comes in a nice box and you can phone microsoft for free 2 times i think befor thay charge you for tec support

Is that it ? wow ok I thought there was big difference. What would you recomend? Newegg only sells it in oem form so I thought I might have to go to best buy or somewhere to buy it in retail form.

i recommend OEM from new-egg this is the one i get http://www.newegg.com/app/viewProduc...1&searchdepa=6 they include a Audo cable as well to comply with the hardware licence

Ok thanks. Oh sorry I didn't say this but I am making my first build and thats why I needed to know. One last Q does the oem include a manual?

OEM (at least in terms of Microsfot software) does not include a manual. It's the CD and COA, that's it.

It's just a signature that shows your IP address, and what OS/browser you are using. It's also got 9 or 10 random quotes.

I got a windows OEM with my CPU for 1/2 the retail price, the only difference is i have no box. I dont know about that free phone support but the price difference could more than cover that.
