Go to the Symantec web site and search their knowledge base for the manual removal of your version of NAV. Once everything has been manually removed, you should then be able to re-install OK.

I uninstalled everything that I could using Norton's manual and their removal tool . Still couldn't get it all out so I could reinstall it. Do you have any more suggestions? Thanks again

Send a message via AIM to scifiguy1 Send a message via Yahoo to scifiguy1
you must also uninstall the LiveReg and also the LiveUpdate from symantec ..you can do that from the uninstall section in your control panel
that is what i had to do when i went from 2000 to 2002 version

ANd you need to da a search for folders with the name Symantec, then delete all that are found. If there is anything that has the Norton/Symantec name on your computer, the program will not reinstall.

I have finally got rid of everything .The final solution was to go to run type REGEDT32 find everything Nortons and Symantec and deleted. Now I tried to reinstall Norton's and now the message comes up The sysytem administrator has set polices to pervent this installation. Now how do I change the polices? I have looked for the administrator tools and can't seem to locate them . Thanks
