Installing
Simple question (I think)
How can I change the default drive path for installations? By default installations install on the partition which has windows on it. How do I default it so software installs on a different partition? |

Instead of C:/..., put the letter of the partition you want in place of it. ie E:/...

Or you can do a registry hack, and set the default drive/folder to something else.
If you want to do that...here's how: Click the Start button. Click the Run command. Type "regedit" in the Open text box. Click OK. This launches the Registry Editor. In the Registry Editor, go to the following registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion In the right pane of the console, right-click the ProgramFilesDir entry. Click Modify. In the Edit String dialog box, type in a new path, such as "F:\Program Files" (that would set the new default location as the Program Files folder on the F: drive). Click OK. Close the Registry Editor. |
