Cant receive files with yahoo IM

I'm running Winxp with a damn dial up connection. My brother is using winxp with cable internet. Neither of us are using any virus software or firewall protection. We can send each other text messages with Yahoo IM and I can send him files but when he tries to send me a file, I get a window that says the person trying to send me file may be behind a firewall. We both messed with the settings in preferences but no luck. Has anyone else had this problem? He cant even send me something as simple as a word document!

thanks for any help!

Cool

His XP firewall could be on. Control Panel > open Network connections > right click properties of Local Area Connection > look under Advanced tab.

As a side note you both need to be running virus protection software. AVG is a good free one. I would recommend a firewall if you are on dialup and believe it is a must if you are on a always up connection such as cable or DSL.
