Kazaa Lite (or K++) is free yes. But you may have to do some searching as the company that created it was sued by the people at Kazaa.
I think that its the best P2P app, mostly because of the volume of files, and the lack of spyware. I will warn you to keep your AV definitions up-to-date. Just because the app doesn't have any spyware, doesn't mean that the people using Kazaa (and K-Lite) aren't sharing infected files. **Let me warn you however, that discussing illegal materials (ie full games that you download off of Kazaa) is not allowed here, nor should it be** Here you go. |

The only problem with K-lite and variants, is there's no error checking. This means, any file you download may not be complete/error free, and may not work after hours and hours of downloading.
Better to use one of the other P2P types, like Edonkey/Emule et al. Yes, they're much slower, but at least you get the complete, error free, file. |

Yeah, its free (but I see you've already gotten it). I've never had a problem with errors in Kazaa Lite downloads. I guess I just got lucky though. I really only dl'd once in a while, but KL always was perfect.
But I don't use it anymore anyway. I don't mean to sound all goody-too shosed here, but I realized that even though the RIAA is a piece of ****, stealing from them isn't a good statement of discontent. I'd rather see everyone boycott CDs. But I don't want to really start that debate again. |

I don't do all that much downloading with K++ anymore either.
And you're right about eDonkey reboot, I think it's much better. Just my two cents. |
