Easy Clean
I use Easy Clean by Toni Arts as recommended in this forum a long time ago. I just love it. Can anyone provide me with the new home page for that software? My present link is no longer valid.
Anyone else llike it?

MrDon,
I've used Easy Cleaner for a long time and really like it. the only suggestion I would have for anyone is to leave Duplicate Files alone, unless you know exactly what you are doing. Carl |

I was trying to get the free version as I had before and I could not find the free link! Was I surprised! How is a better way to clean up unecesary files and clean up the registry?
I have tried Noton and Windows and then ran easy cleaner and there was a lot more to be removed with no apparent bad consequences. |

Chas,
You're right! He changed to a pay version and I didn't realize it. MrDon, PM is Private Mail that you can get on this site from other members. I sent you a PM. Carl |

Click the "User CP" button up near the top of the page, then after you've done that, hit "Private Messages" and there you will see Kubie's wonderful message
.Kind of interesting that you've been a member here for four years and you don't know how to get your PM's .

MrDon,
You can click on "user cp", a button near the top of the page when you log in. Also, when you see the Welcome MrDon, there should be a message telling you have a private message. Carl |

If you are still running Win98, RegClean is still free
http://download.com.com/3302-2094_4-881470.html Not for Win2k/XP! . . . Gary (and for regular temp file cleanup, Disk Cleanup in System Tools isn't all that bad & it's built into Windows) |

Here is a link to a site that has it for free. I downloaded it and gave it a try. It works with XP.

in the skip window(on clean registry) after norton put a comma and write help otherwise the help and support (in start)will disappear,i found out the hard way.if you have already past that point then the fix is on their web, just click it and it fixes it.i guess that is what you were asking about on EasyCleaner,if you have easy clean i don't know that is another program.

I downloaded the version 2 from the link Not Important provided and owing to my ignorance that it would cause problems with XP, I ran it. Obviously I did not put the comma after Norton since I didn't know about problem.
Anyway either the problem was fixed in version 2 or I got lucky as my Help and Support is still functional. One odd thing. Prior to link Not Important provided I had done a Google search and downloaded version 1.7 and ran it. It came up with 116 invalid entries. I did not choose to fix and and cancelled because I did not have the registry backed up. When I ran version 2 it only found 66 invalid entries which I did fix. Now you cannot even download the fix to get help back without joining! This is a raw deal as many have contested with thir e-mails. I still need the fix to get help back.

After cleaning the registry, Easy Cleaner creates a backup registry file (default location: C:\Program Files\ToniArts\EasyCleaner\Undo). You might try running the registry file to undo changes, add ",Help", then clean the regitry again.
I've never tried this personally, but it SEEMS that this would work, so back up the registry first if you decide to try it. |
