Google Toolbar
Well I'm getting really tired of popups while I'm gaming even after I run SpyBot and AdAware. So my question is does the Google Toolbar block popups even if Im not using Internet Explorer?

The pop-up blocker is available only for Internet Explorer version 5.5 and later.

If you're getting ads popping up when IE isn't open, you've got spyware on your computer.
To fix it, download, install, immediately update and then run Spybot and/or AdAware. Read the help files to familiarize yourself with how they work. I recommend you use them both since each tends to find things the other misses. Let them clean up any spyware found. Then, to be doubly sure, download and run CWShredder (link to the download is near the bottom of the page). If you're using Windows XP and the popups say "Messenger Service" on the title bar, you need to go to Control Panel>Administrative Tools>Services, scroll down to and double click on Messenging. Choose Disabled from the "Startup Type" drop down list, click on the "Stop" button and click OK. |
