Lagging Computer
First, let me apologize if I put this on the wrong subject. I don't know where this would fall under.
Here's what happened, my windows xp was acting a bit strange and old so I wanted to restart my computer. I used my windows ME and erased all of the files on my hard drive and installed windows ME onto the computer. When I first booted it up, the graphics card wasn't detected (showing only 16 color) so I had to mannually go and input my graphic card info onto the computer. This fixed the problem with the display (got 16 and 32 bit color back). But I noticed that the computer was lagging like crazy. I would do a simple task like typing or opening a window and the computer was lagging and the system monitor is showing 100% use of Kernel: processor usage. There is no mistake in the system information though, its showing all the right specs. I don't get it. |

My advise would be un-install ME and re-install XP!!! xp is sooo much better than ME. If Xp was acting strange or old hten update it using microsoft.com
