IP address
Ok let me jsut say what i want to do first
. I want to broadcast a live webcam on the internet (no not for those gross reasons, only because I like being on camera). I have the software and I know how to get it working because my friend has done it and it worked. My problem is that to have people view it I need to know my ip address but I am behind a router and I changed my router ip to 10.10.1.1. I can find my internet ip but it doesnt work. i know it is being broadcasted outward because when i go to http://localhost:8080 it works. Umm how do I find my computer's ip address or how can i get other people to view it?

Go to Start>Run, type in "command" (for Win9x) or "cmd" (for XP), both without the quotes, click OK.
Then type in "ipconfig" (also without the quotes), press the Enter key. The IP should be displayed. Your computer's IP will be assigned by your router, though, and is usually something along the lines of 198.162.1.xxx...the last three numbers unique to your computer. I've a feeling the problem you're having is that you're going to have to forward a port, or ports, to your computer to let the traffic through the router. |

You are going to have to load up the router configuration pages and read out your WAN IP address, this is the address that must be used from outside your network - and while you are in there, you have to forward the appropriate ports to your local IP.
