Winbook Laptop Recovery

Winbook J4 Laptop; XP Profressional

At the beginning of the boot it says to hit F10 to open System Recovery. I did this, however, after it opened I realized that it wasn't what I wanted- I wanted system restore-, however, now, when I restart the laptop (even from a cold boot) the System Recovery automatically opens, hence, I can't get to the desktop.

There isn't anything in the bios that addresses this.

Anyone know how I reset the laptop so System Recovery doesn't open?

This maybe the wrong forum, if so, move it to the correct one.

Repeatedly tap the F8 key during the boot process which should get you to the boot menu. Choose Normal Mode from there and see if it will boot on into Windows. If not, repeat the process only choose Safe Mode and then make the necessary adjustments to reboot into Normal Mode.

For some reason, on my laptop, when I hit F8 it takes me to a menu that only asks me if I want the HD or DVD to be the first device.

I'll try the other F keys to see if one of them will take to the boot menu.

Its F5 on my laptop- was able to use the boot menu to start up. For some reason the default OS was changed to System Recovery.

F5, huh? Thanks for letting me know. I'll file that away for future reference. Laptops...they can't do anything the usual way. You gotta' love 'em. Well, you gotta' love 'em because if you don't, you'll end up throwing them off a building or running them through a tree shredder.
