Problems with disk defragmentor
I am having a problem with disk defragmentor. Every time i try to defragment the system, the percent bar never goes anywhere. The computer isn't freezing, but I let the computer run for four hours trying to defragment the system and it didn't even get one percent. Anyone have any ideas.

Boot into safe mode and try it from there. If there is anything running in the background it will cause defrag to start over.

try Redo's suggestion.
What I used to do was use Control+Alt+Delete to get to the task manager and close out everything except Systray and Explorer---That fixed it for me with both Defrag and Scandisk. |
