IE and XP Help

Ok, I just did a reformat and reinstall of XP, and now I cant remember how to reset it to the way I liked it before... Here is what I need help with:

1. In IE when I type a URL into the address bar, it prompts me with possible suggestions of sites that I have previously visited since I last cleared my history. I have turned off AutoComplete, but this didn't work. How do I turn this feature off?

2. I have turned off the XP themes package and made it look like Windows 98, however whenever I am viewing a folder, or in My Computer, I always get a very annoying menu at the side of the folder, and I cant find where in Folder options I turn this off and make it look like a Windows 98 folder.

3. Where does Windows Update put the stuff it downloaded? It downloaded a bunch of stuff, but didn't install it, and I want to delete the crap it downloaded, where do I find it so that I can toss it?

To answer your questions:

1) In Internet Properties>Content>Autocomplete, uncheck each of the entries for Web Addresses, Forms and Usernames and passwords on forms.

2) In Control Panel>Folder Options, on the General page, check "Use Classic Windows Folders" instead of "Show Common Tasks in Folders".
