Decent software for audio control panel?

I'm looking for a decent non-bloated (as in Creative) program to sub M$'s poorly laid out audio control panel(s). Creative's control panel along with their drivers suffer from the usual 'bloat' factor and I would perfer NOT to use it.

Any suggestions that would place the playback along with the bass/treble controls and recording on the same panel instead of switching back and forth as in Windows?

I'm running 2k w/sp4 and a SB Live Value card.

KX comes with a control panel of it's own. Although it is a slight upgrade from the Creative drivers it terms of sound, they do nothing for me in functionality. The control panel looks like my nephew put it together. And it's ASIO support is down right horrid. So if you need ASIO drivers for anything, stay away from KX.

First you need to remove your program with your sig.
I really don't like my IP address broadcast all over even though it isn't hard to get. There is enough 'loose' information floating around out there, why publish more?

Please remove that or I will contact one of the modulators!

Second, what is KX and ASIO drivers?

SonicVanguard's sig's little "IP reporting" thingy doesn't broadcast your IP. You're the only one who sees your IP there. I see mine, others see theirs, nobody sees yours but you...and every web site you go to and every server you go through to get to every web site, of course.

As Miz said, it's not a program - it's a applet that uses common a common javascript to show you YOUR IP, no one else sees it.

If you had checked the link force_flow2002 supplied, you'd have discovered what KX is. To keep things simple, this is the KX Project. It's more than new drivers, it's a control panel, just like you asked for. On top of it, you get drivers that in many respects are better than those provided by Creative. They don't work for my situation - but they are perfectly fine for most general applications.

If you don't know what ASIO drivers are, then you've got nothing to worry about because if you needed them, you'd know what they are.

But I've got to know...why would you contact a modulator? Are you planning on broadcasting glc or HAL9000 someplace? I know...typos are a pain, my business partner refers to mine as fat-finger disease. But I just thought that was a very cool typo, considering your user ID.

Dave.

What I've done is wired my computer through my stereo unit through to my logitech speakers. That way I can manually control the balance.

Sure...but your question's been answered. Other than using the KX Project stuff, there really isn't anything else that will do what you want.

Videobruce: There are several threads here referencing that signature, and the staff has decided to allow it to be used because it's not telling anyone else about you. Your IP is logged by the majority of websites you visit anyway.

You are NOT to threaten ANY member about ANYTHING in the public forum, that's what private messages are for, and if you reach no satisfaction that way or you would prefer not to use that avenue you are to contact a staff member and we will be happy to discuss the issue. Thank you.
