Converting a .ram file is difficult at best - since the .ram file only points to the .rm file. But a .rm file that resides on your hard drive can be re-named to a .ram file and still play. Converting a .rm/.ram file is almost as difficult - Real Media is very protectiive of their codecs. There is one program that I'm aware of that will convert .rm/.ram to AVI - AVOne. You can convert the .ram file to .avi, and then use X Video Converter to convert the .avi to .wmv.
But neither program is free - I know X Video is shareware and I think AVOne is as well. I haven't a clue what their shareware limitations might be. Good luck. Dave.

Tinra (free) RM to .avi http://www.dvdrhelp.com/rmto.htm
Why do you want to convert to WMV? What is it that you're converting? |

What codec are you using?
If you convert it to an avi, using a compression codec that you don't have, or don't have installed properly, it won't work. Try it with DivX. (Codec is free from www.divx.com) By far the best compression (well, almost), and at least it's semi-standard for .avi What are you using to play back the avi? WMP sometimes craps out on bad codecs. Get the WMP9 codec pack at http://www.microsoft.com/windows/win...cdownload.aspx |
