looking for a program to compare contents of text files

I'm looking for a program that will compare the contents of two files with text in it. line by line is preferable. any links would be greatly appreciated.

TriDComm is a 3D file manager for Windows. TriDComm has a pair of Norton-Commander-style
listing windows, all of the ususal file and directory folder icons are rendered as three
dimensional objects. File types are indicated by distinctive shapes, and the third dimension
of the objects (z-axis) represent the file size. At the base of each object is the file detail
material: name, size, moddate and attributes. The app supports the usual file manager controls
(directory tree, copy, move, rename, view file, hexview file, view graphic file, edit file,
delete file, compare files, find file, make directory) and zip file handling. It uses the
mouse along with the Ctrl and Alt keys to navigate around in the 3D space provided (pan, zoom
and rotate). And you are even given control over background color etc .

Differential is an application, which provides users with the following functionalities: - Comparing two directories and putting the difference into another directory - Comparing two directories and putting the difference into one big file - DLF - Creation of DIT file which contains all the information read from one directory - Comparing DIT against another directory and putting the difference into the third directory - Decompression of DLF file into tree structure DLF contains all the data, and should be treated as a library.
