I am upgrading my BIOS and need to boot into DOS to do this. How do I boot into DOS? Is there a key I hold down?

You can either boot off of a win98SE floppy or press F8 and select command prompt before you get to the color windows loading screen.
If you're running 98SE, in the shutdown menu, select reboot in DOS mode.

XP doesn't run on top of DOS like prior releases of Windows. So your only option is to boot off of the Windows 98 boot disk.
Why do you want to boot into DOS anyways? |

I need to boot into DOS to upgrade my BIOS According to ASUS. I need to upgrade by BIOS so that I can change the multiplier. I need to change the multiplier so I have more flexibility with overclocking
![]() The BIOS that came with the mobo does not allow you to change the multiplier. ...which is at x11. Thanks |

Run the "recovery console" from the XP CD and type in the admin password and you'll be in "DOS". Insert the floppy with the new BIOS on it and run the proggy. You'll be off and running.
