Media Player 9

I was wondering what you guys think of windows media player 9.
A friend of mine installed it on his WinME machine and it screwed things up (he lost his sound, and kept getting errors, eventually had to reinstall the OS)

has anyone else had any problems?
do you think I should be OK installing it?
I have:
Win Me
athlon 2800+
a7n8x-dlx
512 crucial DDR
ati 9600 pro

I've had no problems with 98SE, 2000 or XP after I installed WMP9.

It's most likely one of the infamous winME O/S bugs. I'd suggest looking into getting another O/S other than ME.

If it chokes on a codec, get the WMP9 codec pack from http://www.microsoft.com/windows/win...cdownload.aspx
