scan

Thanks in advance.are there any software or freeware that enable me to scan a document and put it into word for editing.

What you are looking for is optical character recognition (OCR) software. Sometimes it comes with scanners. You can go to www.download.com and do a search for OCR to get some idea of what is out there.

The bundled OCR that comes with scanners is usually pretty basic and falls apart if the document is heavily formatted. To do it right, you need to buy something like Omni Page Pro or Textbridge.
