outlook not showing mail!
hey everyone,
some users at my work are having problems with outlook 2000. in the folder list, it'll show that there are new messages in the inbox, but when you click on the inbox it doesn't show any new messages. what it's actually doing is hiding some messages from view, but if you change the recieved sort order from descending to ascending, it'll show the new messages. does anyone know why this might be happning? it has the latest service pack. they are all running on windows 98se machines.

Do you host your own server, or do you purchse space from some other place?

In Outlook, with Inbox selected, go to View>Current View and make sure "Messages" is checked. If "Unread Messages" is checked, it will hide all unread messages.

it's hiding more than just the unread messages. if they walk around from their machine, or switch to another window and work for like 10 minutes, when they switch back a few messages will not be shown. they're there, just not visible.
we have our own exchange 2000 server on site. i keep my virus definitions up to date, and run scans on individual machines often, so far i haven't found anything. |
