What media player should i get?

All over the forum I hear about winamp so I went to download.com to check it out, when looking at the reviews there was alot of talk about other versions being better than others and also Quintessential Player seemed to be the prefered choice, so what should i get?

You will find that everyone likes something different. I personaly like MusicMatch as it lets me convert file types, organize music by whatever method I want, and it will get all the proper titles and album art from the net. It also interfaces directly with most MP3 players.

ghost2003, what are you looking for when you say a "media player"? What kinds of files do you want it to play?

When you said Winamp I automatically thought Music. I'm just used to that being what Winamp does. Didn't realize that you were looking for a audio and video player here.

When I build a computer I always load Real Player, Divix, musicmatch, and Quicktime in addition to the included Media Player. With the Quicktime install I disable QTtask and the start-up in MSCONFIG. With real player you do a custom install and check that you do not have an internet connection. Then you uncheck every box you see.
