Iritating icon removal

One of the persons who 'share' this pc (has W2K) was light on work at the holidays and downloaded a card program. It installed a picture of a calendar (almost like an icon but does nothing) on the initial windows screen, (shows up afther starup completes) pre-log on screen.

It is not user specific and she, along with the other users, want it gone!

Where might I find it to delete it?

Thanks,

MK

Look for things in add/remove programs that you don't recognize.

Run SPybot search and Destory as you probably have precison time and gator on the computer also. This is probably the date reminder program that tricks people into downloading and installing gator.

That one is called Date Manager - it will be in add/remove - but all I've seen it do is put an icon in the systray with today's date on it. It does install Gator, as does Precision Time and Weatherbug.
