Quick Final Cut Pro Question

I know that there are mac forums out there, but I hope someone here can answer this...

Can Final Cut Pro edit AVI files? What about Quicktime video files?

I believe it only works with MPEG and QT/MOV files. Then again, I'm not a huge fan of FCP, and have only used it a few times. So I'm not 100% certain.

Yes you can. FCP imports and exports AVI perfectly. Considering mini DV is uncompressed AVI i imagine any NLE package would allow you to edit it. Quicktime files are converted to AVI when you import them into FCP allowing for editing.
