I have Norton Internet Security 2002 put when I try to play games on zone.com it will not let me into the rooms. I put the site in exceptions and when the little window pops up and says if you want to have zone connect to the web I hit accept and use this action for everytime. The only way it works is if I disable Internet Security. Is there any way I can fix this???

Uninstall Norton and use a different firewall.

I'm serious - Norton's firewall isn't that good and can be a bear to configure properly - and seriously get in your way. I'm not just dissing Norton on general principle.
Most people here use Zone Alarm or Sygate. |

Yea, i agree with GLC. There maybe a way to alter the firewall to allow it, but i havn't got norton installed(anymore) so i am not sure how it could be done.

I have just installed Norton's secuirty centre on a friend's pc, and now we can't get the internet. Of course I suspect the firewall, but we can't seem to be able to do any admin on Norton as we don't have admin permissions (for some reason).
The pc is running dog slow, but it's spec is ok - 128RAM/fast processor, loads of hdd space. But Norton just is a pig. I feel so daft as I recommended it to my friend. Any ideas? Is it possible to uninsatll Norton and just just not bother with the firewall part, and use Zone Alarm? For example. Thanks. |

These days, 128mb ram is a bit light to run with if you have security software running in the background eating up the ram, especially something as bloated as Norton.

Not on
Yes, my own pc is 256 and it handles it fine...
He could have an upgrade, but my guess is that he's better off returning it to the shop and use AVG/Zone Alarm. Would it still work for another user if it's been activated? |

Zone Alarm is a bit heavy on resources too, but not as bad as Norton.
I don't know about Norton's activation. |
