Netscape 7.1 Splash Screen
I use Netscape 7.1 on my P4 2.6Ghz computer running XP Home Edition.
When I open Netscape, first a splash screen is displayed momentarily before Netscape opens. Is there a way to disable theplash screen where does NOT display and Netscape opens directly without the splash screen displaying? Thanks, G.F.K.

don't know how to do it in Netscape, but since that Netscape is based on Mozilla, you may try this:
Right click on your Netscape shortcut, in the target field, add: -nosplash to the end of the path after the " |

Thanks for responding, but XP won't accept. I get a 'Problem with shortcut' window that says: "C:\Program Files\Netscape\Netscape\Netscp.exe"-nosplash specified in the target fiels is not valid.
Thanks for trying though. G.F.K. |

I think you need to leave a space between the " and the -nosplash for this to work properly.

You are absolutely RIGHT. Added the space and it works like a charm for the DESKTOP SHORTCUT.
Thanks so much for your help. Maybe you can also help on this as well. I often times receive an E-Mail with links to a web page included in the E-Mail. A click on the link and Netscape opens and goes to the linked page. HOWEVER, the splash screen will appear first. Is there a way to disable the splash screen when using a link to open Netscape?
