Third-party scan disk
Hello everyone.
I’m in need of a free program that can scan my hard disk for errors and bad sectors. I have Windows XP Home and I have tried using scan disk, but it won’t give me a report like Windows 98. Does anyone know of a free utility that can do this? Delta013 |

Not off the top of my head, but I'm just curious, what report are you looking for?

You can run chkdsk at a command prompt - it gives you a bad sector report and tells you to run it again with the /f switch if it finds data errors.
