Lotus Smartsuite update

I have found one reference to my question. So, if I can get a clarification, I would be most appreciative.

I need to buy a more recent version of Lotus Smartsuite (thank you MS Windows XP). I am currently using Lotus Smartsuite 97 which is not as compatible with XP as I would like.

I have been looking online and have found a variety of sources and a wide range of prices, anywhere from $22 on Ebay to $235 at NewEgg.

My understanding is that the Ebay and online discount products are OEM (disk only) and "should" be sold with equipment. The NewEgg and IBM prices are for full not upgrade packages.

I am split between what seems like an ethical position and a financial one. I cannot justify the expense of the full package just to allow me to continue using a product that I have loved over a twenty year period.

There are plenty of the "OEM" CDs available. Is it incorrect of me to go that route to keep using Lotus?

Thanks for any and all thoughts on this topic.

It's a gray area, but I'd go for it as long as you receive a real CD with license and not some burned copy.
