Norton Ghost Questions About Master/Slave Comps
I recently purchased Norton Systemworks 2004 Profession, to get the bundled Norton Ghost 2003. Anyway I just want to clarify some stuff about the Master and Slave computer.
The Master Comp's HD is the HD I want to make an Image of? The Slave Comp's HD is the HD where I want to store the Image? Is this correct? One Question for NDisk2 Drivers, and Packet Drivers. I have a Microsoft Ethernet Adapter, which is not listed on the TCP/IP Drivers for Ghost. Does it matter, which driver format I choose? I have selected NDISK2 Format for my MS Adapter Driver. |

The Slave Comp's HD is the HD where I want to store the Image? Yes that is probably what you want to do since the master is probably the drive with your OS on it, but either way just make sure you choose the correctdrive as the source drive and the the correct one for destination drive. If you get them backwards and let it copy, you will know it cause you no longer have an OS. Just a side note when I used to run the setup you have and was using Ghost to do backups to my secondary drive I always kept it turned off in the BIOS except for when diong my weekly backup so that the backup drive could not get infected.. That second thing only will come into play if you want to ghost a drive over the network, and if it works then the one you have chosen will be good if not you may have to get DOS drivers for that network card and build them in to the boot disk yourself.
