I have 4 *.dll files in my data partition.
Where did these files come from?
mfc71u.dll mfc71.dll msvcp71.dll msvcr71.dll I went googling and I found this: http://www.sysopt.com/forum/showthre...hreadid=155374 They answer what the files are for but I don't understand how they got in my backup/data partition? Can you guys help? Recently I just installed and played the FarCry reasearch demo. Could that be it? |

Microsoft implementation of the C and C++ libraries and MFC, nothing wrong with them, almost every single app needs those files.

hmm, are they in the root directory (f:\*.dll)?
Do you have anything installed in f: ? It's normal to have them in c:\windows\ and in program directories (like the ones you listed in your second post). Last edited by aym; 03-14-2004 at 08:01 AM. |

HAHA just as I suspected!
I uninstalled the Far Cry research Demo and the 4 dll files were gone. At least I know where they came from. Now to figure out WHY. I going to search the farcry forums. |
