Burning programs other than Nero

Are there any other burning proggies besides Nero that are free or have a trial period? I need this for a friend who is having freezes while burning and is trying to rule out software as the cause of the problem.

TIA

You can burn CD's with iTunes. Unless he is trying to burn data discs, I don't believe that iTunes will work in that case.

Windows Media Player 9 has "copy cd" feature as well as "copy to cd". Think it's the same in 2K.

EZCD type interface

Nero type interface

Both are free burning programs

I believe that Easy CD Creator from Roxio is a very good choice to burn discs.

1. EZ CD isn't trial or free.
2. EZ CD has been junk since Roxio took it over from Adaptec.

Trial available here. NTI is pretty decent.

Clone CD is cool... I'm not sure if it does data, but it does have trial period (i think)... i dont' have it installed right now, but it does have a lot of options... Youc an create templates for burning certain types of files and what not.. For example, i burn karaoke files into CD+G format, and cloneCD allows me to do that...

http://www.clonecd.net/

However, i really like Nero for everthing else. Roxio sucks... it always gave me problems when burning Music cds.. May not be compatible with my burner..

i haven't used clonecd for about a year or so but the last time i used the trial period never seemed to end, not sure if they fixed that or not, the only disadvantage to keep using trail period is you are limit to 2x writting.

I have the full version of alcohol 120% and it works very well. I believe the trial version should help you.

There's a program called MP3 CD Doctor but it only burns mp3s. It doesnt have a disk copy feature or anything. It has the most simple interface, too. Alcohol 120% is good too.

I use both Nero and CloneCD... CloneCD is exactly what it says, you can only really copy CD's. I personally HATE EasyCD, the driver that installed with it kept causing instability in my system, and I couldn't get rid of the driver. It is the spawn of Satan IMO.

Deep Burner seems to work well and it is free. I don't have a link at the moment. Do a google search.

I use a program that came with my WinXP Pro laptop, called "Drag and Drop". It seems to work pretty nicely - "dragging" and "dropping" music files onto CDs.
