how do you partition?

I have a computer that has only one C drive. How do you partition your drive into other drives? What kind of program do you use? I'm using Windows XP Home Edition.

If you already have data on your C drive (and that partition is taking up the entire drive), the only way to repartition without losing data is to use something like Partition Magic. If you want to start all over, you can partition during the installation process for Windows.

To see if the C: partition is using all the space, right-click on My Computer, select "Manage," and then go to Disk Management.

If you didn't partition it when you installed Windows, then you can either reformat and repartition it or use a program like Partition Magic to do it for you.
