Heres one that stops you having to perform acrobatics when finding the open/close buttons on your DVD/CD drives.

Don't forget about Blender and Gimp for 3D modeling and photo editing.
From what I heard you can download a skin to make Gimp look and preform like Adobe Photoshop - I will look into that.

I have also found that when creating a personal website that needs to have a photo album I use JAlbum.

Also when I am working on someones computer I like to install "My Pictures 3D" www.mypictures3d.com

I don't know if anyone else posted this yet, but I'll post/repeat it anyway.

ANti-Trojan and wat/ever
A-Squared - Was recommended to me by EA, yes, when I was reading an article about BF2 requirement, as one of the software to clean the system before running BF2. The other is Ad-Aware. Great program, a lil bit long if yu do full system scan though; 3-4 hrs+ depend on file. Almost as long as my AVG scan.

Anyone know if these two RAM management freewares are any good? I have been using them for liek the last several years, but I do not know much about them because they are not that much of use beside monitor the RAM.

Ram Booster
http://www.sci.fi/~borg/rambooster/

CachemanXP
http://www.outertech.com/index.php?_...e=product&id=7

The nice thing about Cacheman is that it display yur RAM on the taskbar icon, bottom right, while Rambooster does not. I really do not know why I am still using Ram Booster.

In this day and age with 1GB RAM+ setups and Windows' own memory management, programs like that are unnecessary.

I hear this audio player, Xion (http://xion.r2.com.au) is very good and light. I have it myself and the equalizer can improve the sound quality by a lot (in comparison to windows media player). Fully customizable skin, and a neat thing about the skin is... creating your own skin has never been easier. just create the design in Photoshop, save it as a .psd file and use it!

Two things I have to add.
PC De-crapifier - does what is says, mainly for newer store purchased computers:
http://www.pcdecrapifier.com/

I'm surprised no one has mentioned VLC Media Player. Very low on system resource usage and can play just about anything:

Spam & email alert

A good programme for spam and visual/audio warning of new mail. The best part is that it works with Hotmail.

Free Software list

I wanted to try some newer software and ran across this site. I thought I'd post it because it seems to include some of the programs reccomended here.

http://www.damienkane.com/Software.htm

I personally downloaded six different programs and installed two to try as of this morning. So far so good.

Filehippo.com has hundreds of listings of free software. They are also clean downloads meaning none of them try to sneak other software onto your computer. No membership account is required and their server is fast enough.

dialup-basicisp.net--i have been using it for some time, it seems as fast as any i have used and it is $6.95 a month and no limit on use for the basic, they have what is called a hi-speed for a couple of dollars more but i have used that on other isp's and didn't see a difference.
