PC Mech CD

Has anyone else had problems with Acrobat 6 Reader?

I tried installing off the PC Mech CD and all that happens is the comuter crashes. Not even the blue screen of death. I get a black screen. Is there a bad copy of Adobe on the disk or what? Talking to a friend - they couldn't get Acrobat reader 6 to install on their computer by downloading from the Adobe Web site.

thanks in advance.

I just installed W2K on one of my boxes. Found out that Acrobat 6 won’t install unless you have service pack 4 installed. Downloaded it from web site. Just a thought.

Acrobat reader needs SP4 on win2k to run. Anything below that...you will either need to upgrade to SP4 or uninstall reader 6 and install 5.x

Seeing as you are running XP, there should be no reason why it should not work

This is only a windows 2000 SP3 (or lower) issue.

It would not work until I removed the windows journal viewer, each time I tried it would try to launch the viewer and fail,I haven't tried to reinstall the viewer yet to see if it works properly then, however I really have no need for the viewer and will not reinstall it until a time a need arises.
