Hi
I am trying to make a blank wav file with sound recorder utillity , but I keep getting a constant low level noise. In fact all recordings done with this have the same noise problem . I have changed input devices , made sure all bios and drivers are up to date. Cannot disable microphone physically , being internal mounted. This problem is on an IBM laptop A22M with Win 98 SE . |

Can you mute the microphone from within Windows?
Also, why do you need to make a blank wav. file? |

Yes you can mute the microphone also change input device , but those options don't change the problem .
As for why I want a blank wav , with a blank wav you can extend the lenght of recording time from the 60 seconds , which is the default time length in the sound recorder utillity , to whatever lenght you want by adding the blank wav file however many times you want . |
