System Resource Warning

Sometimes I receive this warning box when I open a program..."System resources are running low. Try quitting another application or restarting windows."

Not having any other programs open, I default to rebooting and everything seems fine for a while. I keep my computer on all the time and this happens about once a week.

Is anyone familiar with this issue and what might be a remedy other than rebooting all the time? Thanks.

Which version of Windows do you have?

Make sure you remove unnecessary programs from startup, go to start > run > msconfig > startup and removed unnecessary stuff.

Thanks, aym_7. I'll try your suggestions. I'm using Windows 98.

That's normal for Win98. If you only reboot once a week you are doing very well.
