64mb or is it 256mb?

When I start my xp machine, right at th ebeginning when you see all that white text on a black background (DOS-like, I suppose), I could swear I see the info: '64MB'.

But my pc has 256MB of RAM. What's the first figure saying to me?

Confused by this oddity...

I should add...

I should add that CFS3 is a bit juddery. Juddery when on my own, and juddery when multiplayering. I have ordered a 512 chip to come soon I hope.

Thanks.

chances are that is displaying your video ram. do you have a video card with 64 mb on it? i think that is what pops up right away. what is windows displaying as the amount of ram you have? to find out, right click on my computer and go to properties. this will display some system info. it should tell you how much ram it has

yeah, 256 - guess I'm being a bit dumb here. I s'pose I should upgrade the vid card to handle flight sims?

what you think?

is it going slow? i personally don't do any of the flight sims, but i have heard they can be pretty taxing on your system. i would wait to hear what some other opinions are, but if you have the money, it could never hurt IMHO.

Flight sims are definitely taxing on your system. As such, I'd definitely recommend upgrading your video card for any new sims. Older ones aren't such an issue
