Does anyone know of any DOS software that will record to a CD-RW?
Has anyone ever heard of this being done? Thanks, |

I have never hear of it being done. I don't know why anyone would want to. I don't believe DOS has any kind of support for a CD burner.

Thanks Hi Ho for your reply.
I also have never heard of anyone using a CD-RW in the DOS world. But the reason I ask was that I know a business that still uses DOS for a DOS program. They use tape to backup on. I was just thinking how nice it would be to use CD since CDs have become so popular/universal. I just think it would be nice to backup onto a CD. I was just wondering. Thanks, Webmaker |

Why dont they consider upgradeing the DOS machine, to a Windows 95 or 98 machine. DOS programs will still run on Windows 9x, and they could have their CDRW.

Mr Jackal,
I am sure an upgrade would work. But this little store has no computer literate people working there. The owner has very little of a clue as to what to do. I have offered my services before, but no go. I just posted this thread to see what others had to say. I think it would be great to be able to backup to a CD-RW under DOS. Easier than tape. More universal media that will work on everyones computer. Thanks for your offerings. |

if these people would have a problem upgrading to windows 98, how do you think they'd handle a linux installation?
