Question Which real player is the best?

I need to install it in order to view some files. Which version is the best? Lite appllication, and full support. I don't need all the extra stuff. RP 8.0?

which ever you choose be very careful on the install, real loves to take over everything, If I remember correctly, the safer install instructions have you uncheck every possible check box, tell it you do not have the internet, and then block it calling home with your firewall.

Personally, I refuse to isntall it, I would rather go without veiwing the file than have that on my system. I am still trying to remove it's icon from my xp home control panel (yeah it even shows up in there)

Yes, use version 8. Anything after that really has a ton of junk with it.

Do Google search for Real Alternative.

I might agree with the fact that Real loads your computer with unecessary materials. How about Real1 Player? I have that, and ads are pretty minimal, from what I see. That's what semi-annual registry/ad cleanups are for (with some special software my sys admin has)

RealOne loads tons of stuff including programs that run in the background 24/7 and slow many computers down. They say it is "necassary". It's not. It is possible to disable them but it isn't exaclty simple.

No, that is why it exists. So you can use that instead of Real Player.
