Icewind Dale - Heart of Winter installation
A long while ago, I had Icewind Dale installed on my computer but I had stopped playing it because of problems with Heart of Winter (the expansion pack). When I tried installing it, it somehow failed and corrupted itself. I did what I could to get the game off my computer, but there was about 800k of HoW data still leftover (as seen in Add/Remove Programs, but not in the Black Isle file it's installed in). I just disregarded it and moved on back to Baldur's Gate. Well now I've got a new network and a few people who want to multiplay Icewind Dale, and it'd be nice to be able to use Heart of Winter as they all have that too. However, when I go to install HoW (after a successful Icewind Dale installation) it just cuts straight to the game without installing. I tried running setup.exe from the CD but I only get a prompt to uninstall Icewind Dale and HoW. I tried that but still got the same problem when I reinstalled. My last idea that I have (that I'm going to try tonight) is to try to install to a different directory. I don't know if that will help, but that's all I can think of.
Anybody else have any ideas on how to get HoW running again?
BTW, I'm running Win2k Pro SP4 on a IBM PII 366mhz laptop with ~300mb of ram and 2.5mb of video (try not to laugh).
