Angry Fire Spyware?

Hi, I have a friend who just got some problems with his IE lately. He told me that a lot of the options in his IE (eg tools, files etc) had greyed out, and also he had this mysterious search bar appearing in the IE. He tried everything but can't restore IE back to normal. Is there anyway he can solve the problem?

PS. He said he had tried system restore, but it isn't working. He also tried to uninstall IE & install it again. Then he use adaware to scan his comp twice, still no use.....

Try Spybot S&D as well. Also a Virus scan. It may not be just spyware, but trojans, backdoors, etc..
