I.M. program

hey , can anyone suggest a good instant messaging program besides yahoo and msn?

i see zonelabs has a new prgram to secure your I.M. but I am looking for a program to start with...

I use Gaim, works with MSN, Yahoo, ICQ, AOL, and IRC, and it's free.

Another option is Trillian, also supports the same networks.

I use trillian but you should be asking your friends what they use. I have found it hard to convince my family and friends to switch IM Clients so I just gave up and started usign trillian.

Trillian here. It's cooler, and has more smilies. Unfortunately not all of them display on the other IMs.

I didn't know that Gaim worked with all of them, aym. That's something I gotta try next time I boot in Linux.

Gaim has a Windows port too, I use it under both Linux and Windows.
